We suspect that when the engineers at Selle Italia dreamed up the Iron EVO Superflow Saddle that their minds were surging with images of the world's most elite triathletes soaring down the tarmac, stretched out in full aero positioning, leaned up against the nose of the seat. This racing-focused approach is crystal clear with one glance at the saddle, with its streamlined red Ironman inserts, snubbed nose, and split rail construction. The saddle is built to perform with a top level of comfort, despite the trying positions and efforts that the second leg puts on your body. It features a compact shape with a redesigned nose that's capable of adapting to you a triathlete's needs, allowing an effective push to be made when your performance counts on it.

When buying a tri-specific saddle, you need to know that it's been constructed to keep you comfortable in the aerobars, since that's where you'll be spending the majority of your time. Selle addressed this need in the Iron EVO Superflow by adding extra padding and an upturned shape at the widest part of the saddle, which measures 132mm to increase support while orienting the saddle, and rider, further forward. The saddle's shape tapers again into an aerodynamic profile after this point, and the padding is strategically placed only where you need it most.

Selle designed the Iron EVO Superflow with a Fibra-Tek cover stretched over adjustable CarboKeramic rails. The split nose tapers to a slender width, and is shaped to help provide more space between the edge of the saddle and inner thigh while pedaling — eliminating dreaded chafing made worse by wet tri shorts. Also serving to help eliminate discomfort caused by wet shorts is the central cutout between the split rails, added to facilitate better airflow and get your shorts dried off before you get to T2.
