Hello! Apologies for the late response, the jacket does have a hood, that can be rolled away, but it is not Gore-Tex material. It is made of a lightweight but tear resistant material, seam sealed with tape. High collar and pit zips included!

Does this pack away into its own pocket?

Hello, Apologies, I was in Mexico for a couple weeks and GearTrade does not work there. There is not a pocket made for packing, but you could turn it inside out in one of he side pockets. But to answer your question, no, there is not a standalone pocket for that.
