Expedition Packs (5000+ cu in) Product Information
I bought it this pack for a Denali bid, a dream many years in the making. It was really the perfect pack for that mountain-- handled giant loads out of basecamp like a champ, but was also lightweight and compressible enough that I took it all the way to the top on summit day! After a few weeks of hard use, I expected it to be pretty beat up. But thanks to a) the bag's incredibly burly construction and b) only ever using it on snow, it looks almost brand new! It's a true expedition pack, bigger than anything I'll likely ever need again, so I'm hopeful you can take it off my hands and use it to live your own big-mountain dreams!
Crampon and snow tools pockets on the front were amazing
Ice tool stowage is really safe and secure
Incredible storage capacity. It's a black hole.
Cinches down really small and sheds lots of components and weight when not needed.
Ridiculously burly, holds up INCREDIBLY well to the abuse of a long expedition
There's no hydration system integration or external water bottle pockets. For the kinds of places this pack is designed for, that's fine because it's cold enough that you have to store water differently anyways to keep it from freezing, but it's worth noting. I used an insulated coozy strapped to the waist belt, and stuffed a spare bottle in the brain, which worked perfectly.
The pack brain can be bit floppy when the pack is compressed down.
Wear and tear:
I honestly really struggled to find signs of wear on this pack. There are a couple really minor scuffs and scratches towards the bottom of the pack that I tried to get pictures of, but other than that it looks basically new. Buckles are all in great shape, and there's no significant damage, staining, or other signs of wear on any of the fabric
